Meet the new JIRA Capture

(Formerly known as Bonfire)

The Atlassian team is proud to present JIRA Capture 2.7. For a list of all the major new features added prior to JIRA Capture 2.7, please see the JIRA Capture Release Summary.

Upgrading Bonfire?

JIRA Capture 2.7 includes updates to the JIRA server plugin, as well as major updates to client browsers. All browser extensions will need to be upgraded by visiting the "Get JIRA Capture" page from your JIRA instance after the server plugin is upgraded. For more information on upgrades, check out our Capture for JIRA Upgrade Guide.

Highlights of JIRA Capture

 What's in a name?

Quite a lot, including the ability to confuse people, as was the case with an Bonfire tool. To rectify this, your favorite testing tool will from today onwards be known as JIRA Capture. Read this blog post for more information.

Note, this means that Bonfire is now launched from your browser via the  icon, instead of the  icon.

Please be assured that your existing licenses and support entitlements are unchanged. This is a change of product name only.

Find issues in active Session

JIRA Capture now ships with the "myActiveSession" function that lets you easily find the issues that are related to your active session. Keep track of all the issues that are being raised by others in a session, so you don't duplicate them!

Use "Raised During" = myActiveSession()to return all the issues raised during this active session.

This also works for issues related to a session, i.e.: "Test Session(s)" = myActiveSession()

Firefox upgrades without restarting

From this release, upgrades of JIRA Capture on Firefox will be much quicker, as Firefox no longer needs to be restarted.
