Tip: Auto-creating Directory Structure when Importing Test cases
Starting October 11, 2024 (Zephyr Enterprise 8.2), the Zephyr Enterprise documentation moved from its current location on Atlassian to a dedicated, standalone Zephyr Enterprise documentation page. Please see: Auto-Creating Directory Structure when Importing Test Cases | Zephyr Enterprise Documentation
How to do it:Â When importing test cases from Excel, you can also extract a path from a particular column, in order to rebuild a directory structure within Zephyr. The steps to achieve this are mentioned below:
1. Prepare your Excel file. You can download a sample spreadsheet here which shows a dedicated column (Column D) for the directory structure. Optionally, you could strip out the testcase information in the Excel sheet to only import the folder structure.
2. Create a new Map for importing the test cases. Reference Importing Test Cases if you need help with this.
3. Create a new import Job following this format: KJobDirectoryImport [[column:D;token.start:0]]
4. Once imported, you can verify that the new folders have been created by checking the test repository.
Note: If you don't notice your directory structure appearing in the test repository, just log out and back in again to refresh your session.
