Recommended browser
Recommended Browser
Chrome is the best-recommended browser to use since the Zephyr framework utilizes modern web technology which can be best rendered by the Chrome browser. Other modern browsers, such as Firefox, can work.
Chrome is Zephyr's recommended browser of choice because using another browser may lead to certain UI objects not being optimally rendered on the screen within the Zephyr application. For instance, users may experience extra scroll bars, buttons not working, text not being selectable, and so on.
Note on Oracle JDK license update
Oracle JDK License Update
Oracle has recently changed the licensing terms for Java Standard Edition 17.0.10 (required by Zephyr). Here's a summary of the impact and what Zephyr is doing about this:
Oracle JDK 17.0.10 is not free for commercial use. It is subject to Oracle’s Binary Code License Agreement (BCLA). If you plan to use it in a production environment, you’ll need to obtain a commercial license from Oracle or consider using OpenJDK, which is an open-source alternative to Oracle JDK.
Remember to keep your JDK up to date for security and performance improvements! For further details, refer to the official release notes.
We recommend using OpenJDK instead to avoid any potential vulnerability in the future and to avoid any additional costs to our customers.
OpenJDK (the recommended Java version) can be downloaded from https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase/jdk17-archive-downloads.html
Oracle Java SE 17.0.10 can be downloaded from https://www.oracle.com/in/java/technologies/downloads/#java17
Note: Java embedded with Linux OS distribution will not work with Zephyr.
