How to setup requirements

A test requirements tree consists of a detailed tree of testing requirements organized in a way that reflects how you will target your testing activities. This folder is organized into nodes and these nodes contain any number of requirements. There are multiple ways you can build your requirements tree:

  • By adding nodes and authoring requirements
  • By adding nodes and importing requirements
  • By adding nodes, creating high level requirements and linking them to where ever they are present in your environment (URL linking)

The Requirements application is available by default from the Test Lead and Tester Desktops and allows for the creation, organization and modification the requirements tree. A global tree automatically populates the requirements from the current release to allow for reuse of requirements in any other release in the project.

1. Plan the organization of your requirements repository first
2. Open the Requirements application
3. You can add, deallocate, delete, rename, import, drag-n-drop various nodes and requirements and build out the requirements repository
