Zephyr is excited to announce the release of Zephyr 6.3 (Standalone Edition)! This release introduces a series of user-centric enhancements that will empower organizations to compress their testing time and provide globally distributed teams with superior testing flexibility, end-to-end traceability and enhanced user administration efficiencies.

Key Highlights
- Improve User Productivity with Better Permission Control
Achieve project-specific and granular access (delete) permissions, providing users the right level of access to contribute effectively across different projects.
- Increase Efficiency with Group User/ Role Assignment
Significantly reduce administration time with the ability to auto assign roles for CROWD/LDAP groups, eliminating the need to create users and assign roles individually.
- Reuse Test Cases to Kick Start Projects Faster
Users can move the ownership of test case from 'project' to the 'global' repository, making it easily available for re-use and save precious testing time.

Customize User Delete Permission | - Ability to customize a user’s permission to delete requirements, test cases, folders, etc. (Zephyr content)

Customize Company Logo | - Ability to customize and display a company logo at the top-left corner of the interface in the Zephyr header.

User Groups | - Added User groups to allow grouping of users.
- Additional support for Zephyr to automatically assign user roles based on Crowd and LDAP group assignments.
- User groups can contain a list of users that can be used to allocate to specific projects rather than individually assigning a user to a project.

Multi-Jira's Authentication Support | - Added support using different authentication methods/types when connecting multi-Jira instances.
- Users have two authentication methods when connecting their JIRA instances.
- Basic cookie-based authentication
- OAuth 1.0 authentication

Bulk Appending Text for Test Cases | - Improved the bulk edit feature to allow appending to specific test case fields.
- Bulk append text to the test case tag field
- Bulk append text to the test case comments field

Test Step Comment Field | - Added an additional comment text field for test steps to provide further context for a test step.
- Test steps now consists of Test Step ID, Test Steps, Test Data, Expected Results, and Comments.

Rich Text Formatting for Test Step Fields | - Added the support for rich text formatting for all the test step fields of a test case.

Populate Global Repository | - Improved on the Global Repository allowing users to populate the global repository using existing test cases from individual projects.
- Global Repository has a “Move Ownership” feature that allows users the ability to move the ownership of a project level test case to a global level in the global repository.

Test Cycle Execution Progress Bar | - Provide the execution progress bar summary for both the test phase and test cycle.

Test Case Version Sync in Test Execution | - In Test Execution, users are able to sync and update the test cases where the test execution is using a previous or older version of the test case.

Rich Text Formatting for Dashboard Gadgets | - Added the support for rich text formatting within dashboard gadgets used to provide more information and context for other dashboard users.

Dashboard Access Enhancement | - Added the ability to allow users to access a dashboard when there is at least one gadget that is configured for a project that the user is assigned to.

Custom Fields Enhancements | - Added the support for cascading custom fields.
- Added the support for rich text custom fields.
- Added the ability to create custom fields that are limited to a specific set of projects.
- Custom fields can be set up to be limited for a specific project(s).

Zephyr and Jira Integration Enhancements | - The status of the execution status for a test case that is linked to a Jira story will be displayed in Jira with any and all latest changes.
- If a Jira defect is closed and crossed-out, the defect that is shown in Zephyr will display a crossed-out ID along with the status “Done”.
- When filing new defects in Zephyr, it will display all available Jira data for populating Jira fields.

- With user roles/permissions changing and depending on how the permissions are set up, some users may only have access to certain pages which will limit the left-hand navigation menu.
